H. Evren Sunnetcioglu, CEMS Junior Member and PhD Candidate at the Medieval Studies Department, has received "PhD scholarship" from the Gerda Henkel Foundation for research purposes in the field of "historical Islamic studies" for his dissertation project entitled "Inscribing Authority at the Time of Crises and Transformation: Şeyhülislam Zekeriyazade Yahya Efendi (1561-1644) and Lawmaking in the Ottoman Empire." Evren is currently based in Istanbul where he is working as a research associate on OTTOCONFESSION project. Congratulations!
