Mariana Bodnaruk, CEMS Junior Member and PhD Candidate at the Medieval Studies Department, is going to present a paper entitled "Inscribing Inequality: Late Antique Slavery in Epigraphic Evidence," at the XXIV Finnish Symposium on Late Antiquity (FSLA), Tvärminne, 11–12 November, 2016. The theme of this year’s symposium is "Slavery in Late Antiquity."

Vedran Bileta, CEMS Junior Member and a PhD Candidate at the Department of Medieval Studies, is going to present a peper entitled 'Becoming a Soldier, Becoming a Roman? The (Re)definition of the Military Masculinity in the Late Roman West," at the workshop organized by the Christian-Albrechts-Universität, Kiel, 23-25 November, 2016. The topic of the workshop is "The 'Self and the 'Other' - The Construction and Perception of 'Otherness' in Late Antiquity."
